Learning Goals and Objectives

Participants will:

Identify differences in assessing and addressing O&M-related areas for students with ocular visual impairments versus Cortical Visual Impairment.
Learn strategies to address and utilize their students' unresolved characteristics of Cortical Visual Impairment, as determined by The CVI Range©, to encourage more reliable orientation and purposeful movement and mobility.
Be able to determine appropriate strategies to use with students in each Phase of CVI©.

PRESENTER SUMMARY:
Alisha Waugh is a licensed Physical Therapist, Certified O&M Specialist, and parent of a child with CVI who has devoted many years to learning about CVI. Through her consulting business, FUNdamentals First, Inc., she provides phone, video, and in-person visits to coach providers or family on their direct interactions with the child to make their interactions as successful as possible in eliciting and promoting use of the child’s functional vision.
