Supporting Young Braille Readers in Developing Graphics Literacy Survey

Editor's Note: Calling all TSVIs working with preschool and elementary education students who are/will be braille readers! Tina and Penny are excited by the response they have received so far to the survey that examines TSVIs experience with PreK-5th grade pre-braille/braille readers in regards to graphics literacy. They would like to get a wide cross-sections of TSVIs in teh U.S. and its territories to take the survey. Please let YOUR voice be heard and participate in the survey!

 

Penny Rosenblum and Tina Herzberg are conducting a research project to explore how teachers of students with visual impairments (TSVIs) support their Pre-K to 5th grade students who are braille readers in developing graphics literacy skills. 

TSVIs who meet the following criteria are invited to participate in the accessible, online survey:

  • Working as a TSVI in the United States or its territories
  • Employed as a TSVI for a minimum of 3 years
  • Worked with a minimum of one braille reader in PreK-5th grade during the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and/or 2021-2022 school year
