Description

This micro-credential is awarded to individuals who have successfully completed and passed the CVI and the Ever-Changing Brain blended workshop. This blended workshop provides participants with the opportunity to become familiar with the structure of the brain, the early visual pathways, the dorsal and ventral streams and the integration between the two, and the importance of neuroplasticity

Competency

In order to earn this micro-credential, participants will demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes outline below.

Learning Outcomes/Objectives

Participants will:

  1. 1.     Demonstrate knowledge of patterns of dysfunction associated with cortical/cerebral visual impairment.

    2.     Identify methods of assessment for children who have cortical/cerebral visual impairment.

    3.     Identify compensatory strategies that increase participation in and access to school, home, and community environments for children who have cerebral visual impairment.

    4.     Identify ways in which the effects of cerebral visual impairment in individual children might affect their performance in pre-academic, academic, functional academic tasks as well as activities of daily living and orientation and mobility.
