Super Bowl Sunday PB and J Sushi for the Crowd
Super Bowl Sunday is traditionally a day to meet with friends and enjoy food and friends. This lesson helps the student adjust a recipe for a crowd.
The student will recognize and represent proportional relationships between quantities.
- Reading and interpreting a recipe
- This lesson can be extended to include making the PB&J Sushi with the student. See recipe for other materials.
- The lesson can also include a discussion on Super Bowl party etiquette (use attached Super Bowl Etiquette document as a guide)
- With the student review vocabulary: ratio, proportion, portion, serving size
- With the student review the recipe – the ingredients and the steps

Using the Portion Control Worksheet together with the student adjust the recipe from 2 servings to 4 servings.
- Review with students the ratio or servings to ingredients and when the student is confident have them complete the Portion Control Worksheet using the students media or choice.
- As noted above, this lesson can be extended to discuss super bowl etiquette and the making of the PB&J sushi.
