Indoor Modified Football: Activity 2 Kickoff Return

The following is part of a series of 6 different activities related to football. These activities have been completed by students at Perkins School.

The following is part of a series of 6 different activities related to football, designed to be played indoors on a replica football field.  These activities have been modified for students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with deafblindness or multiple disabilities.

Materials

Procedure

  1. Keep the same cone alignment as with the handoff activity.
  2. Two students start at the near cone and one at the far cone. The student at near cone (the kicker) places the football on a small cone or tee and then kicks the ball toward the student at the far cone and then walks slightly to right to the far cone.
  3. Student at the far cone (the returner) fields the football and walks, runs, or wheels slightly to right and back to the kicking cone (end zone for a touchdown).
  4. The second student at the near cone then becomes the kicker.
  5. Repeat the sequence for as many repetitions as you like.
