A recipe for making classic playdough.
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 cups of warm water
- 1 cup of salt
- 2 Tbsp. of vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. of cream of tartar
- Food coloring (if desired)
- Put all of the ingredients together in a large pot (except for the food coloring)
- Stir over low heat
- Remove from heat when the dough starts to clump together in the center
- Knead the dough until smooth
- Fold in food coloring as desired
An additional option is to add different scents to the mixture. Since some children may not be able to see the colors, it may be helpful to use scents instead of colors.
